Finding Our Hermosa Beach Shop: PCH, Aviation, and the Sand Section

I'm Shawn Baker, founder and master technician at Luxury Motors of South Bay. If you drove out to our old spot in Hermosa Beach recently and found us gone, don't worry, we didn't close. We moved. Luxury Motors of South Bay is now in Hermosa Beach, right on Pacific Coast Highway at 505 PCH, and this post is the plain-language map to finding us.

I wanted to write this the way I'd give directions to a friend, using the streets and landmarks people here actually use, not just a pin on a screen. Hermosa Beach is a small, walkable town, and once you know a couple of reference points, we're one of the easiest shops in the South Bay to reach. So here's how to find us from wherever you're starting.

We're on Pacific Coast Highway now, at 505 PCH

The single easiest way to find us is the road itself. Pacific Coast Highway, PCH, runs north to south straight through the heart of Hermosa Beach, and we sit right on it at 505 PCH. If you can find PCH, you can find us. It's the main artery every local uses to get from Manhattan Beach down to Redondo, so it's well signed and hard to miss.

We picked this spot on purpose. Being on PCH means you don't have to thread through a maze of side streets or hunt for a hidden industrial park like a lot of specialty shops. You're on a road you already know, in the middle of town, close to the beach, downtown, and the freeway approaches all at once. The old Hermosa Beach address is behind us, so if you have it saved anywhere, swap it out for 505 Pacific Coast Highway, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. That's home now.

Coming in from the 405 or inland South Bay

Most folks driving from farther out reach us off the 405. The move is simple. Exit the freeway and head west toward the ocean on one of the big cross streets, Artesia Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard are the two I'd point you to. Both run toward the coast and drop you into the western South Bay grid.

Aviation Boulevard is a good one to know because it forms much of the eastern edge of the beach cities and connects Manhattan Beach, Hermosa, and Redondo on the inland side. Take it or Artesia west until you meet Pacific Coast Highway, then turn onto PCH and roll into Hermosa. Once you cross into town on PCH, keep an eye out for 505 and you've arrived.

If your navigation ever gets fussy, just aim for the water. In this town, west means the beach, and PCH is the last big north-south road before you get into the flat beachside neighborhood. Point your nose at the ocean, find PCH, and the rest is easy.

PCH is the dividing line: the Sand Section and Hermosa Valley

Here's the mental map that makes Hermosa Beach click, and it puts our shop right in the middle of it. Pacific Coast Highway is the seam that separates the two sides of town.

West of PCH is the Sand Section. That's the flat grid of numbered streets that runs down to Hermosa Avenue, the pier, and The Strand along the beach. It's the part of town people picture when they think of Hermosa, the walk streets, the sand, the volleyball courts. If you're coming from a home in the Sand Section, you're just heading a few blocks east and uphill to reach us on PCH.

East of PCH is Hermosa Valley, the hillside side of town that climbs up toward Valley Drive, Ardmore Avenue, and the Greenbelt walking path. If you live up in the Valley, you drop down the hill to PCH and we're right there. Sitting on the highway between those two neighborhoods means we're a quick hop no matter which side of town you call home.

Finding us from downtown Hermosa and the pier

A lot of our customers know Hermosa best from downtown, so let me anchor it there. The Hermosa Beach Pier sits at the bottom of Pier Avenue, with Pier Plaza and all the restaurants right at the sand. Pier Avenue is the main street that runs from that pier back up into town.

To reach us from the pier, head up Pier Avenue away from the water. You'll cross Hermosa Avenue, then keep going a few short blocks until you hit Pacific Coast Highway. Once you're at PCH, you're in our zone. It's genuinely a couple of minutes from the beach to our bay door, which is one of my favorite things about the new spot. You can drop the car off, walk down Pier to grab a coffee or lunch at the plaza, and stroll the Strand while we work.

That closeness to downtown and the pier is a real perk of servicing your car here instead of at some dealer service center parked next to a freeway. You're never stuck in a waiting room with nothing around you.

Coming from Manhattan Beach, Redondo, El Segundo, or PV

We built Luxury Motors of South Bay to serve the whole coast, and the Hermosa move actually put us closer to most of it. Here's the quick word for each of our neighbors.

From Manhattan Beach, just come south. Take PCH or Highland Avenue down through town and into Hermosa, and you're on the same road that leads to our door. From Redondo Beach, do the opposite and head north on PCH out of the Riviera Village area, and Hermosa is the next town up. From El Segundo, run south down Aviation or Sepulveda and cut over to PCH as you reach the beach cities. And from the Palos Verdes side, come down the hill and north on Pacific Coast Highway through Redondo into Hermosa.

The theme, as you can probably tell, is that almost everyone gets here on PCH from one direction or another. That's the beauty of a main-road location. Whether you're in Manhattan Beach, Redondo, El Segundo, PV, or still out in Torrance, the route is a straight shot up or down one familiar highway.

Dropping off your car and getting on with your day

Because we're right on Pacific Coast Highway, drop-off is easy. Pull up out front, hand off the keys, and we'll walk you through what's next before you head out. If you'd rather not wait around, this is a great neighborhood to leave a car for a few hours. Street parking around the Sand Section and near Pier Avenue is close, and the pier, the Greenbelt, and downtown are all within an easy walk.

Still your same shop, just easier to find

The name is the same, the tools are the same, and the way we treat your car is the same.
