Technician at work on a German luxury vehicle at the Hermosa Beach shop
Hermosa Beach

This Is Our Shop, Not a Service Area

505 Pacific Coast Hwy, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz service from an ASE Certified Master Technician, right on PCH.

Most shops that rank for Hermosa Beach are somewhere else. We are actually here. Our bay doors open onto Pacific Coast Highway, a couple of minutes from the sand, and we moved here in 2026 precisely because this is where our customers live and drive.

What We Do

What Can Hermosa Beach Drivers Bring Us?

Everything a dealership service department would handle, without the dealership overhead. We cover brake repair, engine diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, suspension repair, cooling system service, oil leak repair, transmission service, and routine maintenance.

Shawn Baker, our founder, is an ASE Certified Master Technician and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with more than 20 years on European vehicles. Our diagnostic equipment reads the same modules and fault codes your Porsche or BMW dealer scans, which is how we solve the problems that generic code readers miss.

Buying a car rather than fixing one? We run pre-purchase inspections before you sign, and we handle performance work when you want more from the car you already own.

Common Work

What Do Hermosa Beach Vehicles Need Most?

Beach-town driving is short trips, stop-and-go on PCH, and constant salt air. That combination produces a fairly predictable set of repairs on German cars.

01

Brake Repair

Stop-and-go traffic on PCH through the Sand Section wears pads and rotors faster than the service interval predicts. Performance calipers on Porsche, BMW M, and AMG cars need pads matched to that system.

02

Electrical Diagnostics

Salt moisture is hardest on electrical connectors, and living blocks from the water accelerates it. Intermittent faults, parasitic draws, and module communication errors are common here.

03

Routine Maintenance

Short beach-town trips keep oil from reaching full operating temperature, which is tougher on it than highway miles. Interval-based servicing matters more here, not less.

04

Cooling System Repair

Idling in summer traffic loads the cooling system hard. BMW plastic thermostat housings and water pumps are the usual failure points after about 60,000 miles.

05

Oil Leak Repair

Valve cover gaskets, oil pan seals, and oil cooler lines. If there are spots on the driveway, it is usually a gasket that has hardened with age and heat cycling.

06

Suspension Repair

Control arms, bushings, and air suspension bags. Speed humps through the residential streets above Hermosa Valley are harder on German suspension than open road miles.

07

Engine Diagnostics

Check engine lights, misfires, and drivability complaints traced to a root cause instead of a cleared code. This is the work other shops send our way.

08

Transmission Service

ZF 8-speed, DSG, and PDK fluid service with the correct specification fluid. Skipping this is one of the more expensive mistakes a German car owner can make.

Local Conditions

What Does Beach Living Do to a German Car?

Salt air. The marine layer carries salt moisture inland every night. Electrical connectors, rubber seals, and underbody hardware degrade noticeably faster within a few blocks of the water than they do inland. We look for early corrosion on every inspection rather than waiting for a fault to appear.

Short trips. A run to Pier Avenue and back never gets the engine to full operating temperature. Moisture and fuel dilution stay in the oil, which is exactly the condition oil is worst at handling. The federal fuel economy guidance on vehicle upkeep makes the same point about short-trip driving.

Sand and grit. It gets into door seals, brake hardware, and cabin filters. Not dramatic on its own, but it accelerates wear on parts that are expensive on a Porsche and cheap to service early.

Parking density. Tight street parking near the Strand means more low-speed curb strikes than most owners admit to. Bent control arms and knocked alignment show up here more than anywhere else we have worked.

How Do You Find Us?

We are on Pacific Coast Highway at 505, open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

From the Sand Section or Hermosa Valley: head inland to Pacific Coast Highway. We are on PCH itself, so any of the main cross streets will put you on our block.

From the 405: exit west on Artesia Boulevard or Aviation Boulevard and follow it toward the water until you reach Pacific Coast Highway.

From Manhattan Beach: south on Pacific Coast Highway. From Redondo Beach: north on Pacific Coast Highway. Both are a short run.

Concierge service: we will pick the car up from your home or office in Hermosa Beach and bring it back when the work is done. Ask when you schedule. Our team works in English and Spanish.

10/10 PPI on an early 2000s G Wagon. Would highly recommend if you’re in the market. Didn’t end up purchasing the car, but that didn’t stop the team from treating me like a long time customer.

I brought my Lamborghini Aventador SVJ in for a full engine replacement. From diagnosing the issue to installing and calibrating the new engine, their knowledge of Lamborghini systems, high-performance components, and precision tuning was impressive.
